A RAD – is the simple act of giving an umbrellaless person walking in the rain an umbrella.
Although the act of giving the umbrella is simple, there is a little more to it. A Random Act of Dryness encompasses a much deeper meaning; its about it being nice to be nice, sharing a random act of kindness with a stranger, building resilience, recognising that kindness is important and understanding that we are all connected and we can make a difference with the smallest of gestures.
The umbrella can represent different things and have the power to mean something different to each person receiving it.
Each Random Act of Dryness comes with a different complimentary compliment and ideas of how to ‘drip’ in kindness to every day. There will also be a link to the RAD website where umbrella receivers can upload and share the story of their RAD rainy day and how they are dripping kindness into their lives.
